Mission: Protects the public from incompetence, misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, misrepresentation or dishonesty; licenses only qualified individuals, enforces standards by implementing legislation and administrative rules

Function: License, regulate, investigate consumer complaints and discipline of those subject to board supervision; investigate complaints about those practicing without a license

Member Requirements: Three members who have been actively engaged in the private investigator business for the previous five years, two members who have been actively engaged in private fire investigation for the previous five years, and two public members.
