Mission: Missouri Board of Geologist Registration protects the public from incompetence, misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, misrepresentation or dishonesty; licenses only "qualified" professionals by examination and evaluation of minimum competency; enforces standards by implementing legislation and administrative rules; and encourages development and partnerships with existing small businesses.

Function: Missouri Board of Geologist Registration is responsible for reviewing the qualifications and experience of applicants; administering the Fundamentals of Geology and Practice of Geology examinations as developed by the Association of State Boards of Geology; and enforcing the state statutes and regulations concerning the practice of Geology in the state of Missouri.

Compensation: Members receive reimbursement for realized and necessary expenses. Members receive a per diem not to exceed $70.00 for each day devoted to the affairs of the board.

Member Requirements: 5 must be registered geologists, 4 of which must represent different geologic specialties; and 1 of whom must be a state, city, or county employee; 2 members shall be public members. The State Geologist serves as an "ex offico" non-voting member.
