Mission:
The Children's Trust Fund will prevent or alleviate child abuse and neglect for the State of Missouri's children and families by planning and policy development; ensuring appropriate funding of results-oriented programs, training programs for prevention professionals, and research; promoting public awareness and education; and assisting in the integration of statewide prevention efforts.
Function:
The Children's Trust Fund board was established in 1983 by the Missouri General Assembly to prevent and alleviate the leading causes of child abuse and neglect. The CTF board of directors is responsible for hiring an executive director and with assisting the executive director with planning and policy development; ensuring appropriate funding for prevention programs, training programs, and research projects; promoting public awareness and education with regard to prevention; and assisting with the integration of statewide prevention efforts. The CTF board envisions children and families free to grow and reach their full potential in a nurturing and healthy environment free from child abuse and neglect.

Member Requirements:
Eight public members shall be representative of the following categories: the philanthropy community; the business community; the educational community; the religious community; the legal community; professional providers of prevention services to families and children; a former youth participant in the state foster care system; social services; health care services; and mental health services. One member must be a board certified child abuse pediatrician or a SAFE CARE provider. The Governor appoints four additional members that do not require the advice and consent of the Senate.
